Job description

About the Role

We are hiring a Senior C++ Software Engineer to join our growing Endpoint State and Control team, focused on defining and enforcing endpoint behavior across a managed environment. We build the foundational controls that let IT teams define, enforce, and maintain a strong security posture across every endpoint they manage. Trusted by over 40,000 customers globally, your work will directly power the tools IT teams and MSPs (managed service providers) rely on to monitor, manage, and secure endpoints at scale.

You will collaborate in a fast-paced, agile environment that emphasizes rapid iteration and customer-driven outcomes, working alongside other Software Engineers, Product Designers, and Product Managers. You are responsible for implementing design patterns and working on enterprise level software challenges, in a startup environment. Enabling firsthand product impact, while building software of scale that runs on millions and millions of endpoints.

If you are a Senior Software Engineer, with application-level C++ expertise, who thrives on solving complex technical challenges and is passionate about building high-quality, reliable software for real-world impact, this is the role for you!

What You’ll be Doing

  • C++ Software Development: design and implement scalable features, enhance platform performance, and support critical functionality across our core product suite. Use your expertise to contribute to the development of large-scale software applications.
  • Committing Code and Shipping Products: be one of our most trusted engineers committing code.
  • Other Duties as needed

About You

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical field.
  • 7+ years of systems level C++ engineering, C++14 or newer, C++17 preferred.
  • Strong Windows systems programming experience, including:
    • Windows Registry APIs
    • Windows Configuration Service Provider (CSP), WMI, and MDM bridge
    • Process management, including CreateProcess, job objects, and process isolation
    • Named Pipes or equivalent IPC mechanisms
    • Windows service architecture
  • Strong macOS systems experience, including:
    • Apple Endpoint Security framework, launchd, macOS configuration profiles, or equivalent OS level configuration APIs
  • Experience with CMake and vcpkg, or equivalent C++ build and dependency systems.
  • Comfortable designing and evolving multi process C++ architectures.
  • Experience with SQLite or embedded database patterns for local state persistence.
  • Ability to write design documents, define IPC contracts, and drive technical decisions with limited supervision.
  • Comfortable designing from first principles, as this is a net new system with no existing internal architecture to inherit.
  • Comfortable working in problem spaces with sparse documentation, including under documented OS APIs and novel architectural patterns, as well as undefined requirements.
  • Comfortable experimenting with AI tools in development workflow.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with gRPC or Protocol Buffers for inter process communication.
  • Linux experience, including eBPF, systemd, kernel module development, or D-Bus.
  • Experience building cross platform C++ agents that run on Windows, macOS, and Linux.
  • Familiarity with CIS Benchmark enforcement or compliance frameworks.
  • Background in endpoint management, MDM, or configuration management tooling, such as Chef, Puppet, or Ansible, at the agent or implementation level rather than just usage.
  • Experience with WHQL or driver signing processes.
