About the role:

Westinghouse is recruiting Senior Health Physics Technicians to work at various Nuclear Power Plants within the Unites States. Provide Radiation Protection coverage and oversight for power-plant activates. In addition to providing job coverage, certain routine tasks may be assigned determined by individual certifications, qualifications, and skills.

You will report to the Westinghouse site manager and be located onsite at various locations.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide Radiation Protection coverage and oversight for power-plant activates. In addition to providing job coverage, certain routine tasks may be assigned determined by individual certifications, qualifications, and skills. Types of tasks RP Technicians may perform include the following:

radiation and contamination surveys

material and equipment surveys

release of personnel and material

material escort

ALARA planning

Help with decontamination activities

Support Site Emergency Plan

Qualifications:

Senior Health Physics Technician 3.1A or above. (3.1A requires 2,000 hours of commercial nuclear power combined with a systematic approach to training).

Knowledge of radiation safety principles, regulations, and industry standards.

Knowledge of radiation detection and measurement equipment, including calibration and quality control.
