Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive patient intakes, focusing on diagnostic evaluations and functional assessments, while actively communicating findings and recommendations to primary care providers.
  • Provide brief, tailored therapeutic interventions for patients experiencing mental health challenges, ensuring a strong focus on their individual treatment goals.
  • Collaborate with primary care providers to identify patients who may benefit from specialty mental health services and make appropriate referrals.
  • Monitor patient progress and conduct follow-up assessments to ensure treatment plans remain effective and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Develop and implement personalized relapse prevention plans for patients at risk of mental health setbacks.
  • Document patient interactions thoroughly in treatment charts to maintain accurate records of diagnoses, treatment progress, and interventions made.
  • Participation in case consultations with interdisciplinary teams to discuss best practices in behavioral health care and community resource utilization.
  • Support patients in complying with medical treatments suggested by their primary care provider, including strategies to manage potential side effects of medications.
  • Adhere to ethical practices as outlined in the Code of Ethical Conduct for Clinical Professionals, ensuring patient confidentiality and professional integrity at all times.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your counseling services will primarily target individuals from diverse backgrounds facing various mental health challenges, including anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, and other psychosocial issues. You will work with patients across different age groups, offering support tailored to their unique circumstances. This role not only involves direct patient interaction but also includes connecting them with community resources that enhance their recovery and well-being.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of a Master's Degree in Clinical Counseling from an accredited institution.
  • A current Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) license in the state of Georgia.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mental health assessment techniques, treatment planning, and the efficacy of various therapeutic approaches, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamics, and family systems therapy.
  • Ability to evaluate and respond effectively to the unique mental health needs of patients, ensuring culturally sensitive care.
