What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the remote medical call center position?

To thrive as a Remote Medical Call Center agent, you need strong communication skills, basic medical knowledge, and familiarity with HIPAA regulations, often supported by a background in healthcare or customer service. Make a meaningful difference, for pets and families - one peaceful moment at a time.
If you’re a veterinarian who values meaningful, low-volume work where your care is truly appreciated, this role allows you to provide deeply compassionate in-home euthanasia services while reconnecting with the purpose behind your profession. You’ll help pets and their families experience a calm, dignified farewell in the comfort of home, without the pace, pressure, distractions, or emotional exposure of a traditional clinic.

Responsibilities

  • Provide gentle, in-home euthanasia in accordance with medical and ethical standards
  • Deliver services with presence, sensitivity, and professionalism
  • Administer sedation and euthanasia medications safely and compassionately
  • Counsel pet owners on timing, process, and expectations
  • Create a calm, supportive, and personalized experience for each family
  • Work independently in clients’ homes, providing compassionate guidance and support
  • Transport pets when needed and ensure respectful handling
  • Offer emotional support and follow-up to grieving families
  • Complete medical records, consent forms, and controlled substance logs accurately

Schedule and Support

  • Flexible schedule, including the potential for after-hours appointments
  • Dedicated call center support handles scheduling, client inquiries, and payment processing - allowing veterinarians to focus solely on patient care

Qualifications

  • DVM or VMD
  • Unencumbered state veterinary and DEA licenses
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated empathy and sensitivity to home visit dynamics
  • Ability to lift and transport pets, including larger animals with assistance

Why Work With Us

  • Flexible schedule
  • Control of generous time off
  • Competitive pay with additional earnings for travel, after-hours, and holiday visits
  • Appreciation from clients and colleagues for the compassionate service you provide
  • Opportunity to practice veterinary medicine intentionally, focusing on connection, presence, and quality care

You’re a Perfect Match If You

  • Seek flexibility, part-time or full-time work
  • Want higher pay
  • Are recovering from burnout or extended clinic hours
  • Value meaningful work where your care is recognized and appreciated
  • Enjoy traveling while working within a home-based geographic area
  • Are in transition and want to take back control of your schedule
