As the practice continues to expand, they are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Billing Virtual Assistant to support their revenue cycle management by ensuring accurate claims processing, insurance verification, and billing administration.

Role Overview

This is a fully remote, full-time role for an experienced Medical Billing Virtual Assistant who will assist with medical billing, insurance claims, payment posting, and billing-related administrative tasks. The ideal candidate has experience working with U.S. healthcare providers, understands medical billing processes, and can maintain accuracy while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments

- Prepare, review, and submit medical claims accurately and on time

- Process insurance claims through clearinghouses and payer portals

- Monitor claim status and follow up on denied, rejected, or unpaid claims

- Post insurance and patient payments accurately into the billing system

- Review patient accounts and resolve billing discrepancies

- Maintain accurate patient billing records and documentation

- Communicate professionally with insurance providers regarding claim status and reimbursement

- Assist with patient billing inquiries and payment-related concerns when required

- Generate billing reports and assist with accounts receivable follow-up

- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and client confidentiality policies

- Perform other administrative and medical billing support tasks as assigned

Candidate Requirements

- 1+ years' experience as a Medical Billing Virtual Assistant, Medical Biller, Medical Billing Specialist, or a similar role

- Experience with U.S. medical billing processes and insurance claims management

- Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding is an advantage

- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance billing procedures

- Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR), Electronic Health Records (EHR), or medical billing software

- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills

- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
