REP PAYMENT POSTING III

Remote

POSITION SUMMARY:

The representative payment posting is responsible for posting payments to patient accounts and to key and verify insurance and patient payments in a timely and accurate manner.

Work Schedule: Remote

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Post all insurance, virtual credit cards, upfront payments, and personal payments to patient accounts accurately and balance all checks in imaging workflow environment
  • Post all rejections from insurance companies that are the Posting Department's responsibility
  • Facilitate refunds for all overpaid accounts, unidentified and misdirected payments
  • Relieve and post the suspended payments and balance them within 3 days of distribution
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS: 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.

  • Basic math skills, ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages
  • Healthcare billing insurance terminology knowledge preferred (i.e., ability to read EOB’s, EOP’s and remits)
  • Basic knowledge of Medical Insurance terminology
  • Organized, detail oriented with excellent follow through abilities. Can handle and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Reliable, team-oriented, with excellent interpersonal skills

Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • One-year of payment posting experience in a medical billing office or equivalent combination of education and experience
