Job Title: Estimator - Xometry Projects on (Remote)

Compensation: Base $65,000 to $75,000
About the role
  • Pen Manufacturing is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Estimator to join our team and manage Xometry projects remotely. This is a critical role for our operations, as you'll be responsible for evaluating project requirements, preparing precise cost and time estimates, and ensuring smooth coordination across teams. Prior experience with Xometry is required. We are looking for someone with deep knowledge of manufacturing processes, pricing structures, and an analytical mindset to support accurate and competitive bidding.

What you'll do
  • Analyze project RFQs and specifications on the Xometry platform
  • Prepare accurate cost and time estimates for CNC machining, 3D printing, sheet metal fabrication, injection molding, and other manufacturing processes
  • Identify material, labor, and equipment requirements
  • Collaborate with internal teams (project managers, procurement, engineers) to verify assumptions and improve accuracy
  • Maintain and update cost databases and estimation templates
  • Track estimates vs. actual project costs to refine pricing models
  • Assist in bidding strategy to improve win rates while maintaining profitability
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications
  • MUST HAVE prior experience working with Xometry projects and platform
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing and machining processes
  • 1+ years of experience in estimating or project management roles in manufacturing
  • Excellent analytical and math skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet tools (Google Sheets)
  • Self-starter who can work independently in a remote setting
