Location: UCHealth Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion - Aurora, CO 

Department: General Medical Genetics 

Work Schedule: Full Time, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)  

Shift: Days 

Pay: 19.10 - 24.83 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option

Summary:
This position primarily supports General Medical Genetics despite the position being physically located in the Heart and Vascular Center.  

Assists genetic counselors in day-to-day operations. Performs routine administrative duties and clinical support, requiring general knowledge of genetics and organizational policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Triages genetic counseling referrals and schedules visits.
  • Performs case preparation, including obtaining medical records, family history, and additional relevant information.
  • Coordinates genetic testing, including sample collection, insurance authorization, preparing lab orders, and providing clinical information to genetic testing laboratories.
  • Serves as contact for genetic counseling program for patients and other staff.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree. 
  • Preferred: Degree in biological sciences, Genetic Counseling Assistant training.
