Position Summary:

The University of Northern Colorado College of Osteopathic Medicine (UNC COM) invites applications for a position of Part Time Clinical Faculty in the Department of Primary Care.
This part time clinical faculty position will be responsible for planning and delivering educational materials and assessments related to the clinical teaching of COM students in the clinical reasoning courses. These courses are delivered collaboratively utilizing active learning methods within didactic sessions in conjunction with the biomedical science faculty. The purpose is to guide student learning about conditions and diagnoses within the various body systems and their underlying foundational science.
Successful candidates will join a dynamic and growing team dedicated to providing an innovative, student-centered curriculum in an active learning environment.

      Develop and deliver clear innovative course content that aligns with the college's mission and educational goals.
      Utilize active learning methods such as team-based learning (TBL), case-based learning (CBL), and flipped classrooms.
      Create and present supporting educational materials such as lecture PowerPoints, voice overs, video recordings, and other tools, as needed.
      Deliver the curricular content in alignment with the course directors' instructions.
      Writing NBOME style exam items
      Grading student written assessments by the provided deadlines.
      Providing helpful constructive feedback to students both verbally and in writing.
      Collaborate with chairs, other faculty, and administration in curriculum development, assessment, and modification of the curriculum as a part of the College's ongoing quality improvement and assessment program and best practices in medical education.  

Minimum Qualifications:

      DO or MD degree.
      Valid current and unrestricted medical license and ability to be fully licensed in Colorado.
      Current or past board certification or proof of board eligibility in the physician's specialty.  

Preferred Qualifications:

      Primary care specialty or other specialty training with a wide range of medical expertise.
      A commitment to fostering osteopathic philosophy.
      Teaching experience in a medical school, graduate medical education program, or experience as a clinical preceptor.
      A collaborative working style, with a commitment to student success.
      Excellent communication skills with a focus on timeliness, transparency and respect.
      Commitment to integrity, critical thinking, and data-driven decision-making.
      Initiative and motivation to complete assigned duties.
      Ability to positively motivate students and colleagues, promoting a culture of growth and upward mobility.
      Technology proficiency in using Microsoft and technological adaptability to learn new software including learning management systems.
