Position Title:
Manager, Data Informatics-Medical Staff Affairs/Services-Mount Sinai Health System-Remote-Full Time-Days
Position Summary:
The Manager, Data Informatics for Medical Affairs Operations is responsible for the accuracy and validity of Mount Sinai Health System's credentialing database platform that supports the credentialing, privileging, peer review, F/OPPE metrics, CVO, and managed care enrollment operations of the department. This position supervises the department's data analysts ensuring adherence to data management principles and policy.
Responsibilities
  • Directs, supervises and evaluates work activities of data team staff as assigned. Directs and/or conducts recruitment, hiring and training of personnel.
  • Establishes work schedules and assignments for staff, according to workload and ensures all activities are completed within specified time frames. Organizes department level activities to achieve optimum service and achieve performance objectives.
  • Plans, implements and administers goals, objectives and timetables for the data team. Composes verbal and written directions outlining objectives to be accomplished in a clear and concise manner.
  • Responsible for the development and execution of data management plans and guidelines that will ensure data accuracy, timeliness and quality. Assures the quality control compliance process. Ensures the credentialing database is maintained and optimized to support the credentialing, privileging, peer review, F/OPPE metrics, CVO, and managed care enrollment operations of the department, and ensure all interfaces with other databases throughout the system are maintained.
  • Optimizes use of the database in collaboration with other departments to meet system-wide data needs and goals.
  • Collaborates with IT on vendor database upgrades and enhancements, scheduling, updates and overall testing and validations
  • Maintains knowledge of the current regulations, policies, and technologies applicable to Medical/APP Staff best practice credentialing standards, as they relate to data management governance.
  • Completes performance appraisals. Counsels and conducts disciplinary action of staff as necessary.
  • Assists in the preparation and maintenance of the department budget.
  • Performs other related duties.

Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor?s degree in computer science or related field, or relative education/work experience. Master?s degree in relevant field of study preferred.

Experience
  • 7 years database application/management experience.
  • 5 years credentialing and privileging application software experience with system optimization a plus.
  • Hospital-operations credentialing and privileging experience preferred.
  • Medical staff/credentialing leadership experience in a multi-hospital healthcare system or CVO a plus.
  • Project management methodology knowledge and experience required.

Licensing and Certification
  • NAMSS Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS), Required
  • NAMSS Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM), Required or must be obtained within 2 years of hire.

Computer Skills:
  • MS Office Suite-advanced
  • Credentialing database experience required (Verity / Cactus a plus)
  • SQL - preferred
