In this high-impact role, you will define and evolve the product direction for a portfolio of technologies that accelerate data access, transformation, and analytics execution across hybrid and cloud-native environments.

This includes ownership of SAS SpeedyStore and SAS Data Accelerator, which enable high-speed model scoring, code acceleration, SAS Visual Analytics (VA) acceleration, and model training. You will also lead the strategy for integrating with open file formats such as Parquet and Iceberg, and enabling remote access to cloud storage platforms like AWS S3, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Google Cloud Storage.

You will work closely with software engineering teams to develop a platform product vision for this domain and craft detailed requirements to support the development of a robust and scalable product roadmap.

As a Product Manager, you will:

  • Shape the strategic direction for interoperability with modern data platforms, lakehouse technologies, cloud storage services, and open-table formats to ensure SAS remains an integral component of customer data architectures, while aligning product plans with corporate strategy and business objectives.
  • Define and maintain product roadmaps, priorities, and OKRs; communicate product risks, decisions, and roadmap updates to stakeholders.
  • Lead product requirements definition and prioritization based on customer, stakeholder, prospect, and market input, and conduct discovery to translate findings into product strategy.
  • Drive alignment across Engineering, Design, UX, Program Management, and related teams to deliver customer and business outcomes.
  • Define success measures, own post-launch analysis, and develop business cases and product investment recommendations based on customer, market, financial, and product-health data.
  • Help shape pricing, positioning, collateral, launch readiness, support readiness, and knowledge transfer, while representing the product externally with customers and prospects.
  • Own product lifecycle management decisions and identify emerging technologies, business threats, and new market opportunities.
  • Embrace curiosity, passion, authenticity and accountability. These are our values and influence everything we do.

Required qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in product management and/or software engineering related to data management, decision management, or AI/analytics.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in data science, computer science, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
  • Solid working knowledge of modern data management, cloud databases (SingleStore, Snowflake, Google BigQuery, Azure Synapse), and Spark-based environments like Databricks.
  • Familiarity with one or more open-source runtimes, packages, and libraries (like Python).
  • Understand concepts of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and/or Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) business models.
  • Familiarity with Cloud Platform provider technologies.
  • Ability to translate complex technical and business information for diverse audiences.

Additional competencies, knowledge and skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage in technical discussions with customers, partners, and industry analysts.
  • Excellent critical-thinking skills with a demonstrated history of making sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to work in a highly collaborative, global environment across multiple business units.
  • Ability to innovate and define creative solutions with compelling user experiences that exceed customer expectations.

World-class benefits

Highlights include...

  • Comprehensive medical, prescription, dental and vision plans.
  • Medical plan options include:
    • PPO with low annual deductible and copays.
    • HDHP combined with a health savings account with a contribution from SAS (no access to on-site health care center).
  • Onsite Health Care Center (HQ) that’s free to employees and family members enrolled in the PPO plan. There's a pharmacy too! Not local to HQ? The pharmacy will ship prescriptions for no additional charge!
  • An industry-leading 401k plan.
  • Tuition Assistance Program and programs and resources to support your development
  • Generous time away including vacation time, a variety of paid holidays, and our much-loved U.S. Winter Wellness Break between December 25 and January 1.
  • Volunteer Time Off, parental leave and unlimited paid sick days.
  • Generous childcare benefits for all full-time employees.

You are welcome here.
