The Digital Portfolio Strategist, Engagement & Access Enablement serves as a strategic partner focused on improving how patients, families, and partners discover, access, and engage with Children's Wisconsin. Through stakeholder insights, workflow analysis, market intelligence, and strategy development, this role develops recommendations and roadmaps that leverage digital capabilities, personalization, and emerging technologies to create more connected and accessible experiences.

Location:

Remote (Local Candidates Only): This role is remote; however, candidates must reside in the Milwaukee metro area. The position requires regular onsite engagement with stakeholders and teams to understand business operations, workflows, and project needs.

Job Summary
Serve as a key member of the IS & Digital team advancing Children's Wisconsin's strategy to support internal and external stakeholder needs. This role focuses on identifying friction and unmet needs of key stakeholders, shaping strategies that leverage personalization, intelligent automation, and emerging technologies to enable more seamless and coordinated experiences. Working collaboratively with cross functional teams, the strategist develops a clear point of view on what good looks like, aligns stakeholders around priorities, and helps activate change by guiding decisions, informing investments, and shaping actionable strategies that enable more connected, scalable, and efficient operational and engagement models.
Essential Functions
- Evaluates existing stakeholder journeys, workflows, and processes to identify friction points, gaps, risks, and inefficiencies.
- Gathers and synthesizes input from voice of customer and data to develop clear insights, quantify problems, and highlight opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders to gather input, validate findings, and build shared understanding of current challenges and opportunities across teams.
- Translates insights into clearly defined problem statements and opportunity areas. Conducts gap analysis to compare current state experiences and capabilities with desired outcomes, identifying root causes and prioritizing opportunities.
- Researches industry trends, peer practices, and emerging technologies to stay informed. Identifies best practices and identifies potential approaches.
- Conducts market scans, solution evaluations, and RFP processes to assess tools and platforms. Provides structured analysis and recommendations based on strategic fit and organizational needs.
- Creates future-state concepts, journey maps, and experience models that illustrate improved approaches. Formulates actionable recommendations supported by business cases and value analysis and translates them into prioritized roadmaps and execution-ready action plans.
- Supports processes that surface, evaluates, and aligns new ideas and initiatives across the organization. Assesses for alignment with strategic portfolio goals and develops recommendations to inform prioritization and coordination across the enterprise.
- Develops clear, well-organized presentations, reports, and materials that communicate insights, strategies, and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership to support informed decision-making.
- Partners with teams during early stages of execution to clarify strategic intent, engage accountable teams, address questions, and ensure alignment between defined strategies and implementation efforts. Monitors evolving needs, performance, and feedback to inform ongoing refinement of strategies and priorities.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree required
Experience:
- 7+ years Professional experience with relevant work experience in healthcare, healthcare administration, business or related field required
- Experience with project management, performance improvement and change management methodologies preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge and understanding of both best practices and innovative approaches in digital technology.
- Proven skill and ability to follow through; tenacious in assuring assignments are led to conclusion with strong results.
- Strong interpersonal, organization, communication and presentation skills to communicate with diverse groups, facilitate project teams, resolve conflicts and present recommendations.
- Excellent consultative, collaboration and communications skills necessary to partner with teams across Children's Wisconsin, Children's Medical Group, Children's Specialty Group, physicians, patient/families and others from the community.
- Analytical ability to assess situations, evaluate risks, and make recommendations as well as analyze information and formulate a plan of action that is in line with business and financial constraints.
- Design thinking with strong project management skills, process improvement, quantitative, and analytical abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to act as a trusted advisor, drawing upon healthcare knowledge and insights.
