Real Good Foods is a growing food manufacturing company focused on producing high-quality, protein-forward, better-for-you frozen food products. We are looking for a strong finance leader to join our team and serve as a key business partner across Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, Commercial, and Executive Leadership.

Position Summary

The Senior Finance Manager / Finance Manager will play a critical role in supporting financial planning, cash flow management, manufacturing finance, capital investment analysis, month-end close activities, and strategic decision-making. This role requires a hands-on finance professional who can analyze complex financial and operational data, identify business risks and opportunities, and provide actionable insights that improve profitability, cash flow, and operational performance.

The ideal candidate will have strong financial modeling skills, manufacturing or CPG experience, and the ability to partner effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Cash Flow & Liquidity Management

  • Own and maintain the 13-week cash flow forecast.
  • Partner with Accounting and business leaders to improve cash flow forecast accuracy.
  • Monitor working capital metrics, including inventory, receivables, payables, and cash conversion cycle.
  • Analyze weekly liquidity trends and identify risks and opportunities.
  • Support lender reporting, borrowing base analysis, and liquidity planning initiatives.
  • Prepare executive-level cash flow reporting and recommendations.

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Support the annual operating plan, forecasts, long-range planning, and monthly reforecasts.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic decision-making.
  • Perform variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior year results.
  • Identify risks and opportunities impacting revenue, gross margin, EBITDA, and cash flow.
  • Prepare presentations and financial reporting for leadership, Board, and investor updates.

Manufacturing Finance & BOM Management

  • Lead Bill of Material creation, maintenance, validation, and cost updates.
  • Partner with Operations, R&D, Procurement, and Supply Chain to ensure BOM accuracy.
  • Analyze formulation changes, yield impacts, ingredient substitutions, and manufacturing efficiencies.
  • Evaluate labor, overhead absorption, material usage variance, and production cost drivers.
  • Support standard cost development and annual cost roll processes.

Capital Expenditures & ROI Analysis

  • Lead financial evaluation of capital investment projects.
  • Develop ROI, NPV, IRR, payback, and sensitivity analyses for proposed investments.
  • Partner with Operations and Engineering teams to prioritize capital projects.
  • Track approved capital projects against expected financial returns.
  • Provide post-investment reviews to validate realized savings and operational improvements.

Month-End Close & Reporting

  • Lead finance activities related to month-end close processes.
  • Coordinate with Accounting to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare management reporting packages and financial performance analyses.
  • Identify and explain key business drivers impacting monthly results.
  • Drive continuous improvement in close timelines, reporting quality, and forecasting accuracy.

Process Improvement & Leadership

  • Drive automation and process improvements across finance and reporting processes.
  • Enhance financial reporting tools, dashboards, and KPI tracking.
  • Develop best practices for forecasting, budgeting, and performance management.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and strong business partnership.
  • May manage and develop direct reports depending on business needs and candidate experience.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive finance experience for Finance Manager level.
  • 8+ years of progressive finance experience for Senior Finance Manager level.
  • Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong financial systems experience.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional business teams.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and business partnership skills.
  • Ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

  • MBA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent advanced certification.
  • Manufacturing, CPG, food and beverage, consumer products, or supply chain experience.
  • Experience with ERP systems and business intelligence tools.
  • Experience with standard costing, BOM management, inventory analysis, and manufacturing cost drivers.
  • Experience managing direct reports and developing talent.
