This position is remote but must be located in the US or Canada and requires travel to the Canadian sites.

As the Canadian Region Finance Manager reporting to the Director of Finance, you will be providing financial leadership in our business decision making with the aim of maximizing long-term value, cash flows and shareholder return within the Americas Packaging Division. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5-10 years' experience in an Accounting / Finance role with 3-5 years in a manufacturing environment and will ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for their Region to ensure we meet our business objectives. In addition, this position will offer the opportunity to work with cross functional teams to analyze data, provide management with a fair assessment of key projects including how we can optimize them in a way that helps to generate superior business results for the company; as well as support continuous improvement activities to achieve world class financial reporting standards.

Position Scope:

Oversight of the Canadian Region's financial personnel and processes. Analytical support for all activities and processes of Plant Leadership teams in the Canadian Region. Key processes include monthly close including analysis and evaluation of the Region's monthly operating results, monthly financial forecasts and annual operating plans. Providing analytical support for cross functional projects including but not limited to customer profitability analysis and pricing, etc.  This role will have oversight for compliance matters requiring strong partnership with our tax and audit teams to ensure all statutory filing and reporting is completed timely.

 

Primary Responsibilities are, but not limited to the following:

  • Support, training and development of Plant Controllers.
  • Review and assist in the preparation of monthly plant reporting packages.
  • Assist Controllers in development and presenting supporting explanations for monthly results requiring deep variance analysis.
  • Coordinate and provide analysis to the monthly forecasting process.
  • Ad hoc financial analysis of financial and operating metrics to support reporting requirements.
  • Maintain/Develop complex financial models as needed.
  • Assure Plants are in compliance with the Company's policies and controls.
  • Standards and Production Variance reviews. 
  • Driving cost control through spending analysis and review.
  • Support the development and analysis of Plant annual operating plan.
  • Support Plants and Plant Controllers as needed on special projects.
  • Support Corporate Level analysis for key items as needed.
  • Assist Tax and Audit teams to ensure their timely completion of Canadian regulatory filings.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a Business-related field required.
  • Manufacturing experience (preferred)
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, SAP R3 and OLAP tools
  • Strong financial modeling skills
  • Travel 15% to 25%
