About Corellium & Platform Engineering:
Corellium builds a virtualization platform that runs Arm-based devices - phones, IoT, and other hardware - as software. Our platform ships across a wide range of environments, including managed cloud, customer-managed private cloud, on-premises, air-gapped deployments, and appliance-based installations.
Platform Engineering builds the systems, tooling, and automation that allow us to deliver and operate the platform consistently across all of those environments. Linux is the foundation that everything runs on.
About the Role:
We are looking for a Senior Linux Systems Engineer with deep Debian/Ubuntu expertise to help scale Corellium's fleet.
This role focuses on building the Linux foundations, automation, and operational practices that allow us to grow reliably without a corresponding increase in operational overhead. You will improve how systems are deployed, upgraded, monitored, and maintained across hundreds of machines while serving as the team's escalation point for complex Linux issues.
This is not a pure operations role. You will regularly develop and maintain automation, review deployment-related code, and help design systems that are reliable, maintainable, and scalable.
Mission:
Your mission is to make operating Corellium's fleet predictable, repeatable, and safe at scale.
You will improve fleet-wide upgrades, rollbacks, provisioning, and system reliability; expand automation that reduces manual work; and help ensure the Linux foundations underlying the platform remain robust as the business grows.
Responsibilities:
  • Scale fleet operations across hundreds of Debian/Ubuntu systems.
  • Improve the reliability and safety of upgrades, rollbacks, provisioning, and system maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot complex Linux issues involving package management, system services, storage, boot processes, and kernel behavior.
  • Design, build, and maintain automation that reduces operational toil and enables consistent deployments.
  • Review, maintain, and extend deployment and infrastructure code.
  • Serve as an escalation point for difficult production and infrastructure issues.
  • Improve fleet observability, monitoring, and operational visibility.
  • Partner with engineering teams to ensure platform changes are reliable, supportable, and operationally sound.
  • Document solutions and share knowledge across the organization.

Requirements:
  • Deep Debian/Ubuntu expertise and strong Linux fundamentals.
  • Strong understanding of package management, system services, storage, filesystems, boot processes, and kernel behavior.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and first-principles debugging skills.
  • Experience with configuration management and infrastructure automation.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals and the ability to read, write, review, and troubleshoot production automation code.
  • Experience designing and maintaining reliable internal tooling and operational automation.
  • Ability to take ownership of complex problems from investigation through resolution.

Nice to Have:
  • Linux certifications (LFCS, LFCE, RHCSA, RHCE).
  • Experience with observability, monitoring, alerting, and reliability practices.
  • Experience with Terraform and public cloud platforms such as AWS or OCI.
  • Experience operating on-premises, air-gapped, or bare-metal environments.
  • Familiarity with Debian packaging and repository management.
  • Linux networking experience.
  • Experience with security, compliance, auditing, backups, or secrets management.
  • Arm64 or cross-architecture experience.
  • Experience participating in architecture and system design discussions.
