Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Mkt Manager Revenue Cycle Inpatient Coding, you will provide strategic oversight to our inpatient coding teams, holding them fully accountable for enterprise-established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including Discharged Not Final Billed (DNFC). You will serve as a subject matter expert in ICD classification systems and reimbursement methodologies, ensuring that all coding practices align with enterprise compliance plans. By acting as a critical liaison between CDI, clinical quality, physicians, and patient financial services, you will foster collaborative relationships that ensure the absolute accuracy and integrity of the inpatient medical record across our health system.

Every day you will actively monitor DNFC and coding work queues to ensure that all operational metrics are met, while managing team workflows to hit established productivity and quality standards. You will analyze performance data to identify gaps, developing and implementing targeted action plans for sustained improvement. Furthermore, you will facilitate communication across multiple departments to resolve complex workflow bottlenecks, ensuring that the revenue cycle remains seamless and compliant with the ethical coding standards established by AHIMA and AAPC.

To be successful in this role, you will possess the ability to resolve complex technical and operational issues, including remote troubleshooting for coding software and hardware. You must demonstrate strong leadership and organizational skills, with the professional ability to deliver high-level presentations to large groups and hospital leadership. Your expertise will be essential in assisting CommonSpirit Health (CSH) executive leadership with strategic planning and the development of high-impact presentations for combined coding and CDI steering committees.

  • Direct oversight of DNFC workflows to ensure timely billing and efficient revenue cycle operations.
  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert for ICD coding systems, reimbursement integrity, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with CDI, clinical staff, and patient financial services to optimize documentation and coding workflows.
  • Develop and execute performance improvement plans to address coding quality and productivity deficiencies.
  • Drive strategic initiatives by preparing and presenting data-driven reports for system-wide steering committees and executive leadership.
