WHY I DO MY JOB | Job purpose

To own and develop the Media side of the engagement with the assigned retail & CPG client portfolio.  To drive customer first value creation through collaboration between the retailer and the CPGs that builds a better shared understanding of their customers and delivers mutual growth.  To coach and mentor junior members of the team.  May telecommute 100% of the time from their home office, consistent with dunnhumby's remote work policy.

WHAT I DO | Key accountabilities

  • Identify, build, and own relationships with client counterparts in the CPG clients and retail partners, maintaining strong client satisfaction with all client counterparts.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to client counterparts and inspire a change around putting the customer first.
  • Drive and build collaboration between the retailer and their suppliers/CPGs.
  • Collaborate with relevant client stakeholders across key functions such as marketing, loyalty, digital, retailer, finance etc. to ensure the plan is effectively meeting strategic objectives and supporting important customer and business needs.
  • Establish the dunnhumby customer first media account plan for the assigned client(s) ensuring each is in line with client needs, including an overall client stakeholder map, and agreeing the ROI and measurable value we will deliver.
  • Understand the CPG clients' strategies and the retailers' media strategies in order to proactively build the right workplan.
  • Support with creating, managing, accurately forecasting and delivering the budget for their business area (i.e. category).
  • Identify and deliver upsell and cross-sell to the assigned clients to achieve dunnhumby's/ retailer's revenue targets with those clients.
  • Collaborate relentlessly across the wider dunnhumby team, including the retail client team, Media Client Services team and the Shopper Insights team in order to demonstrate a collaborative, consistent approach for the client to maximize client value and to deliver against an integrated overall client plan.
  • Package and deliver Media insights and recommendations to partners across key business functions to demonstrate value delivered and benefit to customers and clients.
  • Provide day-to-day coaching of junior members of the dunnhumby team, including work direction, goal-setting and performance feedback.
  • Support delivery of training to clients on dunnhumby media channels and their objectives and benefits to ensure they are fully utilized.
  • Liaise with Media Consulting teams to evolve our product and service offering and support with upselling additional services and channels to our clients.
  • Regularly capture benefits and data to enable measurement of the ROI and value we are creating with each client.
  • Assist in supporting the dunnhumby overall head of the client to maximize the chances of renewal.
  • Lead the creation of case studies for every project and role-model best practice sharing between dunnhumby teams.
  • Contribute to and understand global retail media trends and best practices and share internally and with client counterparts.
  • Maintain all required skills, complete necessary training, and act in line with our values and Code of Business Conduct.

Job requirements:

 

Bachelor's degree (or foreign educational equivalent) in Business, Communications, Marketing or related field.

In addition to the degree, must have at least 5 years of experience in each of the following:

  • Media strategy development and planning (including digital media) across marketing, selling, and servicing within complex, multi-channel retail clients;
  • Providing inputs into new business strategies to innovate and grow the business revenue;
  • Working closely with media and shopper marketing agencies; and
  • Leading and managing sales negotiations.

Within this, must have at least 3 years of experience in each of the following:

  • Creating transition plans for integrating new clients into commercial teams;
  • Understanding both the supplier's and retailer's commercial processes to deliver useful solutions; and
  • Insight analysis and storytelling using data visualization tools.
