COBOL Developer – Remote

Role Overview

We are seeking experienced COBOL Developers to contribute their expertise to a high-impact customer project focused on training and improving next-generation AI systems. In this role, you will apply your deep knowledge of COBOL, mainframe environments, and legacy systems to evaluate technical content, document business logic, and provide expert feedback.

No prior AI experience is required—your COBOL and mainframe expertise is what matters most.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and interpret existing COBOL codebases, workflows, and business logic.
  • Develop clear and accurate documentation of COBOL programs, system processes, and technical requirements.
  • Review and evaluate COBOL code, pseudocode, and project scenarios for accuracy and completeness.
  • Identify edge cases, ambiguities, potential defects, and areas requiring clarification.
  • Annotate COBOL scripts and technical content to support the development of high-quality AI training datasets.
  • Design and review test cases and scenarios representing real-world COBOL and mainframe applications.
  • Provide expert guidance on legacy system architecture, integrations, and dependencies.
  • Collaborate with project coordinators and technical experts through clear written and verbal communication.
  • Ensure all submitted technical materials meet high standards of accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
  • Support projects involving legacy-system modernization, migration, integration, or transformation where applicable.
Required Qualifications
  • Proven professional experience as a COBOL Developer or Mainframe Developer.
  • Strong proficiency in COBOL programming and legacy application environments.
  • Experience working with mainframe systems and related technologies.
