Broadridge is growing! We are looking to hire a Sr z/OS Mainframe Network Software Systems Programmer to join our z/OS Mainframe Software Infrastructure team. In this role you will help to define strategies for our z/OS Mainframe Network Software environment and support its implementation. This means you will bring new technology to our organization by crafting technical documentation and assist in implementing these new technologies. You will also be part of a last line of defense for major incidents, institute proactive measures that will help prevent impacting outages. Forward moving your role will be to collaborate with and help supervise our technology partners, vendors, and managed service providers.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Works independently to determine mainframe z/OS software upgrade requirements to maintain all products at current and supported levels determined by IBM and third-party vendor(s)
  • Coordinates and schedules all major software upgrades between different Mainframe Technical support teams
  • Defines resource requirements in conjunction with other managers within Technical Services group to support software and hardware upgrade requirements
  • Develops and maintains standards for all Software Infrastructure and Program Products
  • Monitors CPU, Memory and DASD trends to maintain service levels of supported software
  • Performs Project Management for all major product upgrades to ensure mainframe stability and reliability objectives are sustained
  • Stays abreast of vendor software trends and product release schedules for the z/OS technology software on the IBM mainframe
  • Manages multiple projects, develops detailed implementation plans and schedules, and prepares periodic status reports
  • Consults with management and technical staff on other related mainframe software and hardware initiatives

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of z/OS Mainframe VTAM, SNA, APPN & HPR and TCP/IP experience
  • Providing large-scale computing infrastructure technical and operational support in a highly technical environment consisting of nearly 8 z/OS LPARs.
  • Implementation, configuration and support of VTAM, SNA, APPN and HPR technologies
  • Implementation, configuration and support of mainframe TCP/IP in a z/OS Parallel Sysplex environment
  • Implementation, configuration and support of Connect: Direct
  • Implementation, configuration and support of NetView Network Management
  • Understanding and support of enterprise system communications and file transfer protocols
  • Understanding and support of enterprise encryption applications and processes such as TCPIP AT/TLS & SSL/TLS
  • Implementation, configuration and support of communications server infrastructure program products.
  • Excellent communication skills, analytical ability, strong judgment, and systems management skills
  • Exhibit a collaborative style that promotes teamwork
  • 15+ yrs. of related technical experience
  • MS/BS or equivalent work experience.
  • Support and participate in Disaster Recovery exercises
  • Provide on-call support

Hourly range $72-82/hr
