As a Remote LPN focused on IV hydration, you will use your clinical expertise to support field nurses and clients before, during, and after IV hydration sessions, ensuring that every infusion is delivered safely, effectively, and in alignment with established protocols. You will combine telehealth-style support, chart review, and clinical oversight tasks that contribute to a consistent, high-standard client experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • IV Hydration Clinical Support

    • Conduct pre-session remote check-ins to verify consent, assess general condition, and clarify the IV plan.

    • Provide real-time remote support to field clinicians during infusions for questions, symptom checks, and escalation guidance.

  • Patient & Family Education

    • Educate clients on IV hydration expectations, pre- and post-infusion guidelines, hydration goals, and potential side effects.

    • Reinforce safety instructions, including when to contact the nurse, the agency, or emergency services.

  • Documentation & Compliance

    • Complete and review electronic documentation for each IV hydration encounter, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.

  • Licensure & Education

    • Current LPN license in Virginia, in good standing.

    • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

  • Experience & Skills

    • At least 2 years of experience in home health, acute care, infusion, or a related setting.

    • Demonstrated IV skills: starting and managing peripheral IVs, monitoring infusions, and recognizing early signs of complications.

    • Comfortable using EMR systems, telehealth/remote communication tools, and electronic documentation.

  • Professional Attributes

    • Strong clinical judgment and ability to follow IV hydration protocols safely.

    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate and reassure clients remotely.

    • Compassionate, professional, and attentive to individual client needs in a wellness-focused environment.
