Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to develop individualized treatment plans tailored to meet the specific needs of each client.
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, and solution-focused brief therapy.
• Provide therapeutic services to individuals, couples, families, and groups, focusing on understanding family dynamics and the impact of trauma.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in compliance with all legal standards and ethical guidelines.
• Engage in ongoing professional development through workshops and training to enhance skills and stay current with evolving mental health treatment practices.
• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for clients, participating actively in team meetings and discussions.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The clients you will work with range from young adults to families, many of whom may be facing significant barriers to accessing mental health services. Your role will focus on treating a wide array of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges. By utilizing various therapeutic techniques, you will help clients develop coping strategies and work toward their personal goals.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
• Current and unrestricted licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Virginia.
• A minimum of two years of relevant counseling experience in a clinical setting.
• A strong understanding of legal and ethical standards related to mental health counseling.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse client populations.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) software and various teletherapy platforms.

Preferred Experience

• Specialization in family therapy, couples therapy, trauma-informed care, or substance use disorder treatment is highly preferred.
• Experience working with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds and varying socioeconomic statuses.
• Knowledge of community resources available for client referrals.
