Description


SAIC is seeking qualified applicants to support a cutting-edge data, analytics, and AI platform. Roles include managing customer relationships, service portfolio and catalog management, software engineering & development, data/AI engineering, IT systems operations, and use case intake and analytics for DoW enterprise-scale mission objectives expected in Spring/Summer 2026.  

Positions are contingent pending contract award.

A majority of the opportunities are in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area (WDCMA). Some work may be performed remotely, subject to Government approval.

The Senior Travel Team Lead oversees and optimizes endtoend travel operations in support of a multitenant stakeholder environment. This role ensures all travelrelated activities are executed with accuracy, efficiency, policy compliance, and operational integrity. The Senior Travel Team Lead provides leadership, establishes process rigor, ensures timely documentation, and drives continual improvements in travel procedures and organizational workflow.

Job Responsibilities:  

  • Lead the Travel Team
  • Implement travel processes consistent with supporting a multi-tenant stakeholder environment
  • Use the templates provided until the functionality for approvals and tracking is delivered within the TO management portal  
  • Ensure that requests are submitted in a timely manner
  • Keep a summary of all long-distance travel with information on:
    • Employee name
    • Location of travel
    • Duration of trip
    • POC at the travel location
  • Create trip reports that include: Government approval authority, total cost of the trip, a detailed description of the purpose of the trip, and any knowledge gained
  • Provide input to the MSR, including:
    • Trips taken
    • Conferences attended
    • Conduct organizational studies and evaluations
    • Design systems and procedures
    • Conduct work simplification and measurement studies
  • Prepare operations and procedures manuals to support improvements for efficiency and effectiveness

Qualifications

Education and Experience: 

  • High school diploma + 7 years of related experience, Bachelors & 5+ years of related experience, Masters & 3+ years of experience, or PhD + 1 year
  • OCONUS Travel Support Experience

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies:

  • Knowledge of travel management processes and procedures required to support a multitenant stakeholder environment
  • Familiarity with operations and procedures manual development
  • Strong leadership skills to effectively guide and manage the Travel Team
  • Skill in implementing standardized travel request, approval, and tracking processes using provided templates and tools
  • Analytical skills to conduct work simplification, measurement studies, and system design reviews
  • Ability to prepare clear, detailed trip reports including approvals, cost analysis, purpose, and lessons learned
  • Ability to evaluate organizational workflows and propose improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Ability to design and streamline systems and processes within a dynamic operational environment
  • Competence in supporting multitenant stakeholders and ensuring compliant travel workflows
  • Ability to produce high quality documentation that informs leadership and supports mission reporting
