Manager of Indirect Lending and Underwriting - Consumer Lending
Remote Work - Hybrid: This hybrid remote role is based out of our Irwindale, California headquarters and offers a blend of in-office collaboration and remote work flexibility.
At Rize, we believe banking should be human, innovative, and continuously evolving. We are seeking a collaborative and forward-thinking Manager of Consumer Lending to lead our centralized underwriting operations across direct and indirect consumer lending programs.
This is an exciting opportunity for a lending leader who combines strong underwriting expertise with operational leadership, relationship-building skills, and a passion for innovation. We’re looking for someone who is energized by emerging technologies, including automation and AI-enabled tools, and excited about finding smarter, faster, and more consistent ways to enhance underwriting operations, decision quality, team effectiveness, and the member experience.
What You’ll Do
In this role, internally known as Manager of Consumer Lending, you’ll lead the day-to-day operations of our consumer underwriting function, overseeing direct and indirect lending workflows, coaching underwriting teams, and driving operational performance.
You’ll play a key role in:
  • Leading and developing a high-performing underwriting team
  • Managing underwriting operations for direct and indirect consumer loan products, including auto loans and leases
  • Supporting dealer and third-party lending partner relationships
  • Monitoring lending quality, service levels, workflow efficiency, and operational performance
  • Explore and leverage automation, analytics, workflow technologies, and AI-enabled tools to improve underwriting consistency, operational efficiency, decision quality, and team effectiveness
  • Help identify opportunities where emerging technologies and AI solutions can streamline processes, reduce manual effort, improve workflows, and enhance the overall lending experience
  • Partnering cross-functionally with Risk Management, Collections, Loan Production, and other operational teams

  • Experience managing workflow, productivity, service levels, and operational performance in a high-volume environment
Preferred
  • Experience with direct and indirect lending programs, including auto lending and lease products
  • Experience with process improvement, workflow automation, or AI-enabled operational tools
  • Credit union experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills

The expected pay range for this role at Rize Federal Credit Union is $100,000 - $125,000/year. This range is based on candidates living locally in California.

Actual compensation is determined by experience, education, skills, internal equity, and other job-related factors.

As part of the hiring process, candidates who receive a contingent offer will undergo a background investigation, which may include employment verification, credit review, criminal records search, Social Security verification, and government registry checks.
