About the Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and client-focused Employment Lawyer with 3-5 years of call to join our growing practice in Calgary. This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer passionate about employment law seeking to build a rewarding practice in a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

Advise employees on a broad range of workplace matters.

Handle wrongful dismissal, constructive dismissal, human rights, employment standards, and restrictive covenant matters.

Review employment agreements, workplace policies, executive compensation agreements, and severance packages.

Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and litigation before the courts and administrative tribunals.

Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, briefs, and other legal documents.

Manage files independently while working collaboratively with colleagues when appropriate.

Develop and maintain strong client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must have:

3-5 years of call and membership in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta (or eligibility for admission).

Experience practising employment law, including advocacy experience.

Excellent drafting, analytical, and legal research skills.

Strong oral and written communication abilities.

Exceptional organizational and file management skills.

The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
