Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Operational Oracle DBA to support the stability, scalability, and security of enterprise database environments. This role focuses on database upgrades, performance optimization, and maintaining high availability systems supporting multiple concurrent ERP implementations and ETL processes.

This is a remote role with the possibility of transitioning to a hybrid model based on business needs. Flexibility to work outside standard business hours is required depending on project demands.


Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain Oracle database environments (19c and higher)
  • Lead database upgrade initiatives, including Oracle 19c to Oracle 23ai migrations
  • Configure and manage Oracle Grid Infrastructure (ASM, Clusterware)
  • Ensure high availability using technologies such as GoldenGate and Active Data Guard
  • Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies
  • Develop and maintain advanced scripts (Linux, SQL) for automation and monitoring
  • Support ETL processes and maintain multiple database environments
  • Perform database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures
  • Maintain data integrity, security, and compliance with applicable regulations
  • Collaborate with developers and analysts on database design and enhancements
  • Implement and enforce database security standards and vulnerability compliance
  • Assist with installation, configuration, and patching of database software
  • Conduct benchmarking and performance testing
  • Maintain data dictionary and database documentation
  • Ensure accessibility compliance standards are met for database systems and interfaces

Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience with Oracle database infrastructure (Oracle 19c or higher)
  • 8+ years of experience with Oracle Grid Infrastructure (ASM, Clusterware)

  • 8+ years of experience in advanced scripting (Linux, SQL)
  • Strong experience in database performance tuning and optimization

Preferred Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience working with public sector organizations (Federal, State, or Local Government)
  • 2+ years of experience working with hosting vendors
