Job description

Mastech Digital provides digital and mainstream technology staff as well as Digital Transformation Services for all American Corporations. We are currently seeking a System Engineer for our client in the Consulting domain. We value our professionals, providing comprehensive benefits and the opportunity for growth. This is a Contract position, and the client is looking for someone to start immediately.

Duration: 6+ Months Contract

Location: Remote

Salary: $70.00-$75.00/Hourly

Role: System Engineer

Primary Skills: Linux

Role Description: The System Engineer must have 5+ years of experience.

Responsibilities:

- Primary system administrator for custom-developed full stack web application

- Support and enhance DevSecOps & CI/CD pipelines

- Own, maintain, and document all resource/service accounts and AD groups

O Annual attestation and password changes

o Document usage and password change process

- Build and maintain CMDB config, including:

O Configuration items to represent system components

O Support & Ticketing groups

O Change management

- Provide Tier 2 technical support post go-live

- Ensure database & system integrity, stability, and security

- Participate in architecture and solution design throughout project phases

- Be a technical SME for business support & stakeholders

- Data integration design & support

Must have experience with:

- Service Now (CMDB, change management, ticketing)

- DevOps, especially CI/CD and automated build/deployment pipelines

- Linux, bash, YAML

- Container orchestration and deployment

- AWS

- Relational databases

- Supporting large production databases with uptime and resiliency requirements

- Web technologies – certificates & encryption, OAuth, OpenID Connect, HTTP servers

- Data mapping between systems & data integration patterns

Nice to Have:

- Experience managing & contributing to git repositories and CI/CD in GitLab specifically

- Experience with Jira & Confluence

- Experience with Vagrant virtual machines

- Experience with GitOps tools

- Experience with full stack web development languages and frameworks:

O JavaScript (React, TypeScript, jest/vitest)

O Python (Django, Google OR-Tools)

- AWS Certification (Cloud Practitioner or Solution Architect)

- UI/UX tools like Figma or Adobe XD

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Information Technology or another related field or Equivalent

Experience: Minimum 5+ years of experience

Relocation: This position will not cover relocation expenses

Travel: No
