Job description

Position: Software Engineer (Strong Linux & Java applications experience required)
Location: Fully Remote (Candidate should be ready to work in Central time zone)
Job Type: Contract
Experience Level: Preferably looking for 5-8 Years of experience Candidate
Overview:
We are seeking strong Linux experience candidate, proficiency in managing Tomcat and Java applications, and familiarity with monitoring tools like Splunk and Dynatrace. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of deployment processes and automation, ensuring our systems are robust, scalable, and highly available.
Responsibilities:
Design, build, and maintain efficient and reliable CI/CD pipelines for deployment of Java applications on Tomcat servers.
Manage and troubleshoot Linux-based infrastructure and servers, ensuring high availability and performance.
Utilize monitoring tools such as Splunk and Dynatrace to analyze system performance and proactively identify issues.
Implement and automate deployment and configuration management processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define infrastructure requirements and ensure scalability and reliability of our systems.
Perform regular security monitoring to identify vulnerabilities and promptly address any issues.
Conduct system performance tests and optimize system parameters and configurations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Strong background in Linux/Unix administration.
Experience with Tomcat application servers and Java application deployments.
Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Splunk and Dynatrace.
Hands-on experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python).
Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
