Job Title: Senior Systems Administrator
Location: Remote EST Hours
Type: Contract 6+ Months
Job Summary:
The Senior Systems Administrator supports, maintains, and enhances enterprise IT systems across on-premises and cloud environments. This role leads IT project delivery efforts, resolves complex technical issues, and develops system standards and best practices. The position requires strong expertise in Microsoft technologies, infrastructure, automation, and modern device management.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the delivery of IT infrastructure and systems projects
  • Develop and implement project plans, risk assessments, and contingency plans
  • Establish system standards and recommend improvements to optimize performance and reliability
  • Define, document, and maintain best practices and support procedures
  • Assist with hardware, software, and vendor evaluations
  • Research, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues across on-premises, cloud-based, physical, and virtual environments
  • Support deployments and rollouts of new technologies
  • Collaborate with internal teams and peer technical groups as needed
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to other team members
  • Perform special tasks and additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
  • 8 or more years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems engineering, or a related field
  • Microsoft certifications (MCSE or equivalent) preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows Server versions 2019 through 2025
  • Experience with Microsoft application servers and related technologies
  • Strong experience with Microsoft 365, Office 365, Azure, Intune, and modern cloud management services
  • Proficiency in Group Policy design and configuration
  • Strong experience with Active Directory and LDAP user and group administration
  • Solid understanding of networking, operating systems, and troubleshooting concepts
  • Experience with modern device management within the Microsoft ecosystem
  • Proficiency with PowerShell scripting
  • Working knowledge of Bash or Python preferred
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V
