Pacific Campaign House

Job description

Hi! We're Pacific Campaign House, and we're so excited to meet you!

If we havenʼt met before, we're nationally recognized as one of the top firms for digital outreach and persuasion marketing to diverse audiences. We're proud to have produced cutting-edge digital campaigns in over ten different languages and have worked with a wide variety of Asian American Pacific Islander, Black, Hispanic/Latino, and queer organizations. Some of our incredible clients include: DCCC, Equality California, Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), APAICS, APIAVote, SEIU, and more!

We’re currently hiring for a Graphic Designer to serve as our primary design lead, helping bring campaign creative to life - from digital ads and websites to ad reports, social media content to direct mail pieces. If you find energy in variety and love never having the same day twice, we’d love to hear from you!

Who you are:

You’re a strategic creative who knows how to make visual content that moves people - not just looks good. You have a strong design eye, a deep understanding of how creative connects to campaign goals, a tech-savvy creative approach, and an ability to translate messaging and audience insights into work that performs. You can flex between formats, clients, and timelines with ease, and you’re energized by the variety and impact of your work.

At PCH, we move quickly but with purpose - our work is mission-driven, deeply intentional, and grounded in culture and clarity. You thrive in that kind of environment. You like structure and process, but you’re also adaptable when plans shift. You're a self-starter who's genuinely comfortable working independently, but collaborative at heart - bringing a sense of ownership, care, and good judgment to every project you touch.

What makes you a good fit:

You’re thoughtful and strategic in your design approach.

  • You bring creative thinking to every project and think strategically about what you're designing and why.
  • You understand that design is a form of messaging - it can drive action, shift perception, and deliver impact.
  • You have a strong design eye and know how to weave mobile-first, conversion, and persuasion strategies into your visual work.
  • You understand, or are willing to learn, the technical and creative nuances of both organic and paid media.

You’re organized, efficient, and self-motivated.

  • You keep your projects on track, your files organized, and your to-do list moving - all while making room for good ideas and thoughtful collaboration.
  • You’ve worked with clients who come with polished brand systems and those who show up with “just a logo and a few colors” - and you’re comfortable designing for both.
  • You enjoy having several creative projects in motion at once - all different, all meaningful.
  • You meet deadlines reliably and flag early if something's at risk of slipping - and you can pivot smoothly when priorities or timelines shift, without losing momentum on other projects.
  • You're a true self-starter - you drive your own projects forward, are solutions-oriented, and prefer to steward your own schedule and time management.

You’re curious, thoughtful, and quality-driven.

  • You love getting the details right, from spacing to specs to storytelling.
  • You have a sharp eye for detail - spacing, alignment, spelling, disclaimer specifics, and consistency are never an afterthought.
  • You approach feedback with curiosity and collaboration, always aiming to strengthen the final product.
  • You love learning, experimenting, and staying current with design trends, tools, and visual storytelling techniques.

You care about the work and who it serves.

  • You feel invested in work that centers people, progress, and culture, and you’re excited to contribute to campaigns and causes that matter.
What you’ll do:Design + Creative Execution
  • Serve as PCH's primary design lead, owning creative execution end-to-end with minimal oversight.
  • Design visuals for digital ads (static + animated), ad reports, social media, websites, and direct mail.
  • Develop branding and brand guidelines for candidates, organizations, and initiatives.
  • Design direct mail pieces — from postcards to multi-piece campaigns that stand out in a pile of political mail.
  • Design event materials including signage, step-and-repeats, and presentation decks.
  • Create ad reports and decks with visual storytelling that’s as strong as the strategy behind it.
  • Translate campaign messaging and abstract ideas into scroll-stopping, conversion-focused visuals.
  • Work within established brand guidelines while still finding ways to make it feel fresh, thoughtful, and creatively strategic.
Collaboration + Communication
  • Work closely with PCH’s leadership, operations, creative, and ads teams, to brainstorm, refine, and bring design work to life.
  • You're responsive - checking email, Slack, and other internal channels regularly and keeping the team looped in, even heads-down on a deadline.
  • Collaborate with team members to concept campaign themes, bounce ideas around, and co-create smart visual content.
  • Participate in team meetings and don’t be afraid to share a thought, ask a question, or show something cool you found.
  • Respond to feedback with professionalism and precision - even when timelines are tight and rounds are quick.
Production + Project Management
  • Maintain consistent file organization and versioning (regularly updating Google Drive, organized native files, etc.).
  • Organize and prep final files for digital or print delivery, ensuring everything looks good and hits the specs.
  • Occasionally liaise with vendors or printers to ensure your design looks just as good off-screen as it did on it.

Requirements

What You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Expert skill level in Photoshop, Illustrator, and Keynote.
  • Strong knowledge of Squarespace, Figma, Canva, video, animation, and/or illustration skills is a bonus.
  • 3–5+ years of design experience, ideally in a fast-paced agency, political, or advocacy setting.
  • A strong design portfolio showing a range of formats and audiences.
  • Experience designing across channels and formats - websites, social, display ads, digital ads, mail, decks, etc.
  • Understanding of how to apply brand, legal requirements, message, and strategy across formats.
  • Familiarity with mobile-first and conversion-driven creative approaches.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail - especially under shifting deadlines.
  • A collaborative and solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to receive feedback and iterate quickly.
  • Familiarity with progressive causes, electoral work, or values-driven campaigns is a plus.

PCH is an equal-opportunity employer and is doubling down on our commitment to creating a company that prioritizes diversity and inclusion. We strongly encourage people of color, women, and LGBTQ+ people to apply.

Benefits

  • Salary starting at $70,000, to commensurate with experience
  • PCH covers 100% of plans for health care and dental.
  • Internet and cell phone stipend.
  • Wellness and professional development stipends.
  • 401k matching up to 6% (starting at 1 year).

  • Staff retreats to somewhere fun! (Previous retreats have included Mexico and Hawaii).
  • Ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • A creative and inclusive work environment.
