Friendship House Counseling, LLC is actively seeking a dedicated Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our compassionate team in a full-time capacity. This position operates within an outpatient setting, predominantly remote, offering you the flexibility to work from your home while still being connected to a supportive team. Our working hours are Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, creating a manageable schedule that fosters work-life balance. At Friendship House, collaboration is at the heart of our operations; you will regularly engage with fellow mental health professionals to share insights, strategies, and support one another in promoting client success.

• Conduct comprehensive client assessments, utilizing evidence-based practices to establish personalized treatment plans that align with each client's goals.
• Facilitate a variety of therapeutic sessions including individual counseling, family therapy, and couples therapy, ensuring a supportive space for each participant.
• Utilize therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or mindfulness strategies to assist clients in overcoming challenges.
• Collaborate with clients to monitor their progress, adjusting treatment strategies as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Maintain accurate client records, adhering to ethical standards of confidentiality and documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations.

Our clients come from various backgrounds and present a wide range of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and trauma. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will be responsible for addressing these issues with empathy and skill, providing culturally sensitive care that respects each client's unique experiences and circumstances. Your ability to connect with clients and create a safe therapeutic environment is essential to their healing and growth.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a closely related field is required.
• A current and valid LCMHC license in Vermont is essential for this role.
• Demonstrated experience providing comprehensive mental health services, with a strong commitment to working with diverse populations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Preference will be given to candidates with at least two years of relevant clinical experience in mental health counseling. Experience using teletherapy platforms and familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems are highly advantageous. A background in evidence-based therapeutic approaches is preferred, along with ongoing professional development in mental health practices.
