Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and preliminary interviews to evaluate mental health status from initial consultation to discharge.
  • Document each case meticulously, maintaining clear records of clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health.
  • Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment and recovery plans for clients, which may include individuals, couples, families, and groups.
  • Facilitate therapy sessions, adapting modalities as needed to ensure effective engagement and support for clientsโ€™ varied needs.
  • Regularly monitor and evaluate client progress against established objectives and adapt treatment plans accordingly.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and primary care physicians, to coordinate holistic care plans.
  • Assist clients and their families in recognizing and preventing self-destructive behaviors, promoting proactive mental health management.
  • Manage referrals effectively to ensure clients receive comprehensive services that support their recovery journey.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with adult clients facing various mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma-related disorders, and behavioral health issues. Your role involves not only providing support during therapy sessions but also educating clients on coping strategies, resilience building, and the management of mental health conditions. Additionally, collaborative efforts with family members and caregivers will be central to your approach, helping to foster a supportive home environment conducive to recovery.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in New York State.
  • Successful completion of the NCE or NCMHCE examinations.
  • Proficient in using electronic health record systems, preferably AVATAR, to manage documentation and client interactions.
  • Strong understanding of the latest therapeutic techniques and psychotherapeutic best practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
Preferred Experience
