Position Overview

Evergreen Primary Health is seeking a dedicated and fully licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team. This is a full-time remote position that plays a vital role in providing mental health support to students in a school setting. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments and screenings through a combination of teletherapy and well-structured intake sessions, evaluating students’ mental health concerns while identifying their strengths and needs.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, addressing the specific challenges students face, and adapting these plans based on ongoing assessments and feedback.
  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness practices.
  • Collaborate with school personnel, including teachers, administrators, and other mental health professionals, to ensure a holistic approach to each student's care.
  • Educate and empower families by providing resources and guidance that encourage their active participation in their children's recovery process.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential records and documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements and ethical standards, ensuring continuity of care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on students within the school system who are experiencing a range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and trauma-related disorders. By engaging with a diverse population, you will help shape the mental health landscape within schools, advocating for students' emotional and psychological needs.

Qualifications
  • A current and valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a closely related field, along with a minimum of two years of professional experience in mental health counseling.
  • Proven ability and commitment to applying evidence-based practices in mental health counseling.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, essential for establishing rapport with clients and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working within a school or educational environment, understanding the specific dynamics and challenges of the student population.
  • Training in trauma-informed care or specialized workshops focused on youth mental health.
