Position Overview

East Metro Counseling Services is actively seeking a dedicated and culturally sensitive Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic outpatient team in Brockton, Massachusetts. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to provide impactful mental health care in a remote setting, engaging with clients through individual, family, and group therapy sessions. Work Environment

In this position, you will work remotely while being integrated within our supportive outpatient office framework. We operate Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with some flexibility required to best serve our patients. The remote setting fosters a work-life balance while you maintain regular communication with your colleagues through virtual meetings and collaborative case conferences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough, culturally informed mental health assessments to identify patients’ needs and develop individualized treatment plans that reflect their unique circumstances.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, integrating culturally responsive techniques tailored to the individual’s background and preferences.
  • Facilitate effective individual, family, and group therapy sessions that foster personal growth, resilience, and mental wellness.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, and other professionals to support comprehensive treatment strategies for clients.
  • Provide crisis intervention support and guidance during mental health emergencies, demonstrating strong competency in high-pressure situations.
  • Educate clients and their families about mental health, treatment options, and available community resources, promoting empowerment through knowledge.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation according to legal, ethical, and agency standards, ensuring all records reflect up-to-date client evaluations and treatment progress.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development through case discussions, team meetings, and cultural competency training.
  • Continuously stay informed about current research, best practices, and emerging trends in mental health therapy to enhance service delivery.

Qualifications
  • Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology, obtained from an accredited institution.
  • A valid and current license as an LMFT, LMHC, or LICSW in the state of Massachusetts.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of mental health disorders, effective treatment methodologies, and a commitment to culturally competent practices.
  • Proven experience in delivering individual and group therapy that employs inclusive, culturally responsive methods.
  • Exceptional crisis intervention skills and the ability to manage stress in complex situations.
  • Exemplary interpersonal and communication abilities, with a talent for forming constructive relationships with a variety of clients.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and the use of relevant software applications.
  • A reliable commitment to uphold professional ethics, boundaries, and client confidentiality within practice.
  • Ability and willingness to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working with specific populations, such as ethnic minorities or LGBTQ+ communities, is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in therapeutic practices that incorporate cultural relevance and adapt to the varying needs of diverse groups.
  • Background in crisis intervention and familiarity with local mental health resources.
