Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive preliminary interviews to assess clientsโ€™ mental, behavioral, and emotional health, from the initial consultation through to the conclusion of treatment.
  • Develop tailored intervention and recovery plans that cater to the unique needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups, ensuring culturally competent care.
  • Facilitate dynamic individual and group therapy sessions, employing a range of therapeutic techniques to best engage clients.
  • Monitor client progress throughout treatment, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary based on feedback and observations.
  • Collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and other mental health specialists, to enhance client care and treatment outcomes.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate documentation using electronic health records, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Follow up with clients after hospitalization to provide continued support and prevent regression of mental health conditions.
  • Assist family members and primary caregivers in understanding and managing their loved ones' mental health challenges, fostering a supportive environment for recovery.
Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Thrive and Strive, you will work with a varied patient population, encompassing individuals facing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma, and adjustment disorders. Our clients come from diverse backgrounds, and it is essential to approach each case with sensitivity and awareness of cultural factors that impact mental health. Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of California.
  • Successful completion of national examinations such as the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Demonstrated experience working as a mental health counselor, with a solid understanding of various therapeutic modalities.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, for effective documentation and client management.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience addressing physical and emotional health conditions, as well as addiction disorders, is highly desirable.
  • Awareness of best practices as recommended by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
  • In-depth knowledge of medication effects prescribed by healthcare providers and the ability to integrate this knowledge into treatment planning.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this position ranges from USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, with a competitive sign-on bonus.
