Position Overview

Germer PLLC is seeking a Litigation Associate with a minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience to join its Tyler office. The Associate will assist with and, as experience allows, handle an active docket of matters, primarily supporting insurance defense and construction litigation matters while gaining exposure to the firm's broader civil litigation practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an early career attorney who is eager to build practical courtroom and case management experience, while also providing a strong platform for more experienced candidates who are ready to take on increased responsibility. The firm offers flexible work arrangements that will be determined based on the candidate's experience, practice needs, and office alignment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, legal memoranda, and other legal documents
  • Prepare client reports and case evaluations
  • Attend hearings, depositions, and mediations if necessary
  • Assist with case strategy and file management
  • Support trial preparation and participate in trial as appropriate
  • Manage deadlines across multiple active matters

Qualifications

  • JD from an ABA accredited law school
  • Admitted to practice in the state of Texas
  • Minimum 2 to 5 years of litigation experience preferred
  • Excellent writing, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to grow as a litigator
