Job Description/Responsibilities 

This Sr. Manager, Category Leadership - Convenience & Value role is built for a category leader who can influence how retailers win. You'll own category strategy across some of the largest Convenience and Value retailers in the market, including 7-Eleven, Circle K, Casey's, EG America, Dollar General, Dollar Tree, and Family Dollar. Leading a team of three and multiple national category captaincies, you'll turn shopper, consumer, and market insights into strategies that improve assortment, shelving, innovation, and long-term category growth. This highly visible role partners with Sales, Marketing, Insights, and executive leaders to shape customer strategies and expand Sazerac's influence in the marketplace.

What You'll Do

Lead category strategy across Convenience and Value channels, developing insights-driven recommendations that accelerate retailer and brand growth

Own multiple national category captaincies, delivering compelling category reviews, assortment strategies, and space recommendations that influence retailer decisions

Translate complex data into executive-level stories, leveraging shopper, consumer, syndicated, and retailer insights to drive action

Partner with Sales and customers to identify growth opportunities, improve shelf productivity, and unlock distribution opportunities

Lead and develop a high-performing category team, building capabilities, accountability, and commercial excellence

Qualifications/Requirements

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in Category Management, Shopper Insights, Commercial Strategy, or related CPG/beverage roles
  • Experience supporting Convenience, Value, Grocery, or Large Format retailers
  • Proven ability to influence senior customer stakeholders and cross-functional teams through insights and strategic recommendations
  • Experience leading and developing teams with a track record of building capability and delivering results
  • Demonstratable use of syndicated data sources (e.g., NielsenIQ, Circana, Numerator) and retailer data platforms
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint with strong executive storytelling and presentation skills
  • Ability to travel 30-35%.

Preferred:

Experience leading national category captaincies or strategic retailer partnerships

Alcohol beverage or DSD category experience

MBA and/or experience with visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau

The annual salary range for this role is $137,900 - $206,800. Final compensation will be based on relevant experience, qualifications, geographic location, and internal pay equity considerations. Benefits, salary range, and programs may vary by role or location
