Job description

TIAG is now hiring a Senior PHP Developer to join our team and play a key role in building, scaling, and maintaining high-quality web applications. You’ll work closely with product, design, and engineering teammates to deliver reliable, well-architected solutions and help set technical standards across the team.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on development, mentoring others, and influencing technical direction without being fully removed from the code. This role will require a government security clearance to be processed, US or Naturalized Citizenship is a requirement for consideration. 

100% Remote (US-based), with a strong preference for candidates in the Pacific Time Zone to align with team hours.

Job Responsibilities

  • Architect full-stack solutions across font end, database, mobile
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable PHP applications and APIs
  • Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code following best practices
  • Collaborate with Product and Design to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Lead code reviews and help establish engineering standards
  • Optimize application performance, security, and scalability
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and drive root-cause resolution
  • Mentor junior and mid-level developers
  • Contribute to architecture decisions and long-term technical roadmap
  • 8+ years of professional experience with PHP development
  • Strong experience with modern PHP frameworks (Laravel, Symfony, or similar)
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented design and design patterns
  • Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
  • Strong knowledge of SQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL)
  • Familiarity with frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Experience with version control (Git) and interactive rebase
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical partners
  • Experience working with a remote team
