Position Overview
Crown Innovations is seeking a Junior Full Stack Developer to support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of energy-related dashboards, Open Data APIs, websites, and data update procedures for a leading government agency.
This role is responsible for supporting day-to-day operations of web-based applications and data systems while developing a strong understanding of datasets, data relationships, and business rules. The selected candidate will translate client work requests into actionable technical requirements and support the delivery of information dissemination products, including dashboards and web applications.
This position requires a high level of reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to meet daily deliverables with a required start time of 7:00 AM EST.
Key Responsibilities
Application Development & Maintenance
Support development and maintenance of dashboards, Open Data APIs, websites, and data update procedures
Develop and maintain web-based applications using HTML, CSS, jQuery, JavaScript, and PHP
Assist in designing and supporting interactive web applications
Data Integration & Management
Move and integrate datasets between multiple databases across different servers
Manage and maintain data relationships across multiple database tables
Develop a deep understanding of datasets, business rules, and data structures
Web Operations & Deployment
Support deployment of web applications and ongoing operations management
Monitor applications, identify issues, and support error isolation, escalation, and resolution
Assist in build and deployment automation using CI/CD tools
Technical Analysis & Documentation
Translate client work requests into technical requirements
Document requirements, specifications, and system functionality
Support development and delivery of information dissemination products
Collaboration & Delivery
Participate in team-based development and delivery activities
Support successful delivery of dashboards and other information products for government clients
Utilize version control systems and branching models in a collaborative environment
Minimum Required Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship required
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
2-4 years of experience in client-server or distributed architecture environments, including Microsoft or web-based application development
2-4 years of experience developing web-based applications using HTML, CSS, jQuery, JavaScript, and PHP
Experience integrating datasets between multiple databases and across different servers
Working knowledge of Internet Information Services (IIS) for Windows Server
Experience as a front-end software developer designing interactive web applications
Experience with web operations management including deployment, monitoring, error isolation, escalation, and issue resolution
Experience using Git and GitFlow or a strong understanding of version control tools and branching models
Familiarity with continuous integration tools (e.g., GitLab CI/CD) and build/deploy automation
Ability to document technical requirements and specifications
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet structured daily deliverables
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with advanced JavaScript libraries and frameworks such as AngularJS
Experience with PHP web frameworks such as Slim and dependency management tools such as Composer
Familiarity with Highcharts or similar data visualization tools
Experience with SQL query construction, including database scripts, views, and stored procedures
Strong understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks including jQuery
Understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX
Familiarity with server-side CSS pre-processing platforms such as LESS and SASS
Work Schedule & Environment
Core hours: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM ES
Fully remote (telework) position
Work performed in a collaborative development and data environment supporting federal programs
Compensation
Hourly Rate Range: $85K- $100K annually (W2)
Compensation is determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and internal equity considerations.
Crown complies with all applicable state and local pay transparency laws. The listed compensation range represents the good faith salary range for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, geographic considerations, and business needs.
