Job Summary:
We seek a skilled iOS Engineer with a strong command of Afrikaans or Dutch to join our dynamic team. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining cutting-edge iOS applications while collaborating with a multicultural team to create localized solutions. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Swift, Objective-C, and iOS frameworks and a passion for delivering high-quality user experiences tailored to Afrikaans-speaking users.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain iOS applications using Swift and Objective-C.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers and designers, to translate functional requirements into technical solutions.
  • Localize applications to suit Afrikaans-speaking users, ensuring cultural and linguistic accuracy.
  • Optimize app performance and troubleshoot complex issues to ensure smooth user experiences.
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure clean, reusable, and scalable code.
  • Stay updated on the latest iOS development trends and integrate best practices into the development lifecycle.
  • Participate in Agile development methodologies, including sprints and daily stand-ups.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills:
  • 3+ years of experience in iOS app development.
  • Proficiency in Swift and Objective-C.
  • Strong understanding of iOS frameworks (UIKit, Core Data, Core Animation, etc.) and third-party libraries.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and integration with backend services.
  • Experience with Git and other version control systems.
  • Language Skills:
  • Proficient in Afrikaans or Dutch, both written and verbal, to handle localization and cultural adaptation tasks.
  • Additional Skills:
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in localization and adapting apps for Afrikaans-speaking users.
  • Knowledge of mobile design patterns and usability principles.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment tools.
  • Exposure to Agile development frameworks.
