Position Summary:
System Designer II is a key technical resource for both sales and operations teams. System Designer II is responsible for actively driving and managing the evaluation and validation of systems and materials, working in conjunction with the sales and operations teams as the key technical advisor. The System Designer II must be able to articulate technology and product positioning. Must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the project cycle with sales and operations.
The System Designer II is responsible for the design of intrusion, security, CCTV, and card access systems in accordance with sales and operations protocols. Receives project specifications from sales representative and designs system markups. Chooses or validates appropriate mix of products and installation methods to provide the most cost-effective solution to meet the customer requirements. Acts as a technical resource to sales and operations team members. Participates in sales and operations meetings to evaluate accuracy of the sales estimate and job layout as required.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Work with the Sales and Technical staff to interpret project specifications and drawings, determining system layout

  • Engage in communications with our vendor partners on an as-needed basis
  • Requires communication and coordination with other departments to resolve customer complaints or inquiries
  • Promptly resolves questions and problems related to assigned areas raised by customers.
  • Builds and maintains business relationships with clients by providing prompt and accurate services to promote customer loyalty
  • Review plans where a design was prepared by others (i.e.: MEP or FPE firm)
  • Review specifications where a design was prepared by others (i.e.: MEP or FPE firm)
  • Perform takeoff and prepare counts of equipment and devices from floor plans
  • Monitor and manage support services such as maintenance of project paperwork to include contracts, revisions, estimates, work drawing and specifications
  • Must be able to work extended hours to support timelines.
  • Performs other related duties as required and/or assigned

Education/Certification:
  • Associates degree in Electronics or other technical field or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Must have previous experience in commercial security systems design.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Possess a working knowledge of low voltage communications systems
  • Must demonstrate experience with PDF markup tools (Bluebeam preferred)
  • Must demonstrate computer literacy, including such programs as MS Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Prefer 3+ years industry experience

Knowledge:
  • Actively participate in personal and professional development and maintain knowledge of current and new technologies that the company offers
  • Have proficient knowledge of the product lines and related parts used by EVERON Commercial

  • Must possess superior interpersonal skills and be a team player
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adjust to shifting priorities
  • Must possess good decision making skills, be very organized and detail oriented

  • Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment, delays or unexpected events; manage competing demands; change approach or method to best fit the situation
