Job Overview:

The Test Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our healthcare software products. The Test Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and executing manual test cases, and will collaborate with dev teams to align on resolutions as well as interact regularly with customer and project teams to resolve defects and clarify requirements.

The Test Engineer will report directly to the Test Manager. This role requires dedicated contribution towards software and system quality processes, driving comprehensive test strategies, plans, and environments. Given the nature of the engagement, this job demands direct and immediate interaction with development teams, business analysts, and client stakeholders

Required Experience

  • 2-5 years of experience as a Tester
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on testing experience within large scale/systems, preferably US Healthcare Payer or similar systems/portfolio with heavy integrations

Required Skills

  • Domain Expertise: MMIS/MES, Healthcare Payer systems, Medicaid/Medicare systems, HIPAA regulations
  • Experience developing and executing SIT, UAT, End-to-End, Regression, and Business Process Validation test scenarios and test cases
  • Ability to analyze business, functional, and technical requirements and translate them into comprehensive test conditions and test cases
  • Experience creating and maintaining Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTM) and ensuring test coverage against business requirements
  • Ability to identify test dependencies, risks, assumptions, and constraints
  • Experience executing manual test cases and documenting test results with clear evidence and auditability
  • Demonstrated experience testing User Interfaces and Workflows in Eligibility and Benefit determination
  • Ability to identify, document, prioritize, and track defects throughout the defect lifecycle
  • Experience supporting defect triage meetings and collaborating with development, business, and vendor teams to resolve issues
  • Strong understanding of defect severity, priority, root cause analysis, and retesting procedures
  • Ability to analyze, create, and maintain test data required for SIT and UAT execution
  • Ability to coordinate test data needs with business, technical, and data conversion teams
  • Understanding of database concepts and basic SQL query writing
  • Basic understanding of programming concepts and scripting languages
  • Proficiency in test and defect management tools (e.g., Jira, Jama, XRAY, Zephyr, TestRail, QTest, ALM)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting State Medicaid modernization or MMIS programs
  • Experience working in government or public-sector healthcare programs

Project Specific Skills:

  • Strong domain knowledge of MMIS/MES, Healthcare Payer, Medicaid/Medicare systems, member eligibility, benefits assessment and determination
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and healthcare data privacy requirements
  • Experience developing, reviewing, and executing SIT and UAT test scenarios and test cases
  • Experience testing complex business processes, including multiple assessments and workflows
