Drive the Power Grid Forward as an Electric Transmission Engineer IV โ€” Design, Lead, and Deliver the Next Generation of Energy Infrastructure

Are you ready to apply your advanced transmission engineering expertise to projects that strengthen grid reliability and support the evolving energy landscape? Do you thrive in roles where technical leadership, sound engineering judgment, and collaboration come together to deliver complex, highimpact solutions?

CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking an Electric Transmission Engineer IV to join our Electric Transmission Team supporting critical overhead transmission initiatives in Albany, NY or remotely within the Hudson Valley region. In this role, you will serve as a trusted technical leaderโ€”driving project execution, guiding emerging engineers, and contributing to infrastructure solutions that power communities today while preparing for tomorrow.

This position offers fully remote capabilities; however, occasional on-site responsibilities may be required if you are located near a CHA office.

  • Provide advanced judgement and analysis techniques to complete complex engineering designs, technical reports, specifications, and contract documents for electric overhead transmission projects such as rebuilding existing overhead transmission lines, designing new green field transmission lines, and supporting utility project scoping
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed phases of projects with other engineering disciplines and project management staff
  • Monitor project progress and performance to ensure efficient production and minimize issues across critical electric transmission initiatives
  • Complete projects within budget and scheduling constraints, supporting sustainable, cost-effective, and future-ready grid solutions
  • Provide guidance and technical review for junior engineering staff working on electric overhead transmission and power delivery projects

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required
  • Minimum of 4 years of discipline-specific engineering experience required; previous transmission engineer experience required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • Advanced proficiency in engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, MicroStation, PLS-CADD, etc.), as well as Microsoft Office required; AutoCAD experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of QA/QC procedures, business practices, and engineering laws
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment as well as independently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface with clients on a regular basis
  • Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred

  • Lead impactful electric transmission projects that directly support grid resiliency, energy transition goals, and reliable power delivery
  • Mentor and develop emerging engineers dedicated to building the future of energy infrastructure
