Job description

Summary:

The Communications Specialist is responsible for delivering superior customer service and communication to clients, patients, staff, and referring veterinarians. This role requires excellent judgment and decision-making skills in triaging client calls, scheduling appointments with clinical specialists, and determining appropriate actions. Kindness, care for animals, and respect for clients are essential values in this team-focused department.

Responsibilities:

  • Schedule appointments for various Specialty Services using the Cornerstone system
  • Triage urgent calls efficiently and effectively
  • Process referral calls from outside veterinarians and clients
  • Answer phones and direct calls appropriately
  • Respond to internal and external clients in a respectful, friendly, and thorough manner
  • Provide clients with status updates and patient information
  • Maintain a detailed-oriented approach while multitasking in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred
  • Minimum 1-2 years of veterinary medical office experience is required
  • Proficient in computer skills: Microsoft Office, Outlook, Cornerstone EMR system, Alcatel-Lucent Phone system
  • Speed typing skills of 40+ wpm required
  • Ability to provide consistent and exceptional customer service
  • Pleasant speaking voice
  • Articulate, dependable, hardworking, compassionate, and flexible with scheduling
  • Proven experience in a detail-oriented environment

Schedule/Shift:

  • 12PM-8PM - Monday, Friday and Saturday
  • 10AM-6PM - Tuesdays
  • 8AM – 4PM - Sundays
  • Days OFF Wednesdays and Thursdays

Location: REMOTE

This is a REMOTE position, but we are only hiring from the following states for this position:
