  • Develop and execute individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, working collaboratively with students to ensure that their specific needs are addressed while promoting their emotional growth.
  • Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and trauma-focused therapy, to support students coping with a variety of mental health issues.
  • Lead individual and group therapy sessions designed to promote personal development, emotional regulation, and effective coping mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with other mental health professionals, like psychiatrists, psychologists, and psychiatric nurse practitioners, to create a coordinated approach to student mental health care.
  • Offer crisis intervention and support during mental health emergencies, using de-escalation techniques to manage immediate concerns and referring students to higher levels of care when necessary.
  • Engage in psychoeducation initiatives for students and their families, equipping them with knowledge about mental health conditions, treatment options, and community resources that may enhance their support systems.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation of all assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in adherence to legal and ethical standards.
  • Participate in regular multidisciplinary team meetings and professional development activities to enhance collaborative practices and stay updated on developments in mental health care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on the mental health needs of school-aged children and adolescents. You will be instrumental in supporting diverse student populations, addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, behavioral problems, and trauma, while promoting overall mental health awareness within the school environment.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid LICSW licensure in the state of Vermont.
  • A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in a mental health or educational setting focusing on school-aged populations.
  • A solid understanding of mental health disorders and trauma-informed care principles.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in conducting mental health assessments, diagnosing conditions, and formulating effective treatment strategies.
  • Experience with a variety of therapeutic approaches, enabling you to effectively work with individuals and groups.
  • Strong crisis intervention abilities with a calm demeanor in high-stress scenarios.
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to build rapport with students and their families, fostering a trusting therapeutic relationship.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Experience

Experience working within a school setting and familiarity with educational systems, alongside knowledge of local community resources, will enhance your effectiveness in this role. An understanding of educational mental health policies and regulations in Vermont is also advantageous.

This position offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance options.
  • A robust retirement savings plan with employer-matching contributions.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) as well as holiday pay.
  • Professional liability insurance coverage.
  • Support for continuing education and professional development opportunities.
  • Possibilities for advancement within our mental health system.
  • A collaborative and supportive work culture.
