What we are looking for:
We are seeking an experienced UX Designer to serve as a User Experience Design Consultant supporting a long-term care services program. This role focuses on improving digital and service experiences for clients, caregivers, and stakeholders through human-centered design, customer experience strategy, and data-informed decision-making. What you will do:

  • Apply human-centered design principles to understand user needs, behaviors, and pain points.
  • Conduct user research, usability testing, and customer journey mapping to inform design decisions.
  • Translate complex requirements, including regulatory and policy constraints, into intuitive user experiences.
  • Collaborate with program staff, product managers, developers, and stakeholders to deliver effective solutions.
  • Ensure designs meet accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and comply with legal, privacy, and policy requirements.

  • Develop wireframes, prototypes, and design documentation to communicate concepts clearly.

What makes you a good fit:
Required:
  • Demonstrated at least three (3) years of experience within the last five (5) years providing user experience (UX) planning and design, human-centered design, customer experience (CX), or digital experience consulting services.
  • Demonstrated successful completion of at least two (2) major projects within the last five (5) years involving user experience, customer experience, digital transformation, or customer journey analysis in healthcare, long-term care, health and human services, social services, insurance, or a related regulated service sector.
  • Demonstrated experience working within government, healthcare, insurance, or other highly regulated industries where statutory, policy, legal, privacy, accessibility, or operational requirements materially influenced project delivery.

Preferred:
  • Experience designing for long-term care services, Medicaid programs, or aging and disability populations.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards such as WCAG 2.1+ and inclusive design practices.
  • Strong understanding of compliance considerations including HIPAA or similar data privacy regulations.
  • Experience working with cross-functional agile teams.
  • Proficiency in UX tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.
