Senior ServiceNow Developer
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced senior ServiceNow developer to join the IT Operations team. The candidate will lead design, development, and configuration of ServiceNow applications to support business processes, primarily in areas such as ITSM, ITAM, SPM etc. Person will collaborate with stakeholders, architects and junior developers to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions while adhering to ServiceNow and ITIL best practices. The position requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills and a commitment to continuous improvement in an Agile environment. This role offers the opportunity to work on impactful projects in a dynamic environment, with potential for remote or hybrid work depending on the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop and implement ServiceNow applications, workflows, business rules, client scripts, UI policies and scripted solutions on the ServiceNow platform
Define and create ServiceNow portal for all IT intake to include but not limited to incidents, problems, IT changes, enhancements, project requests and service catalog
Configure out-of-box functionalities to meet business requirements, including forms, fields, notifications, access control, reporting and integrations to other systems. Customize ServiceNow using best practices when business requirements are not met
Deliver enhancements spanning multiple ServiceNow modules and integrations. Integrate ServiceNow with 3rd party systems via webservices or other API's
Lead requirements gathering, technical design and solution architecture for new features or enhancements
Own the end-to-end delivery of ServiceNow enhancements and small-to-medium projects, from requirements through deployment and post-production support. Be accountable for outcomes
Develop and maintain Service Portal components, dashboards, reports and performance analytics
Perform testing, debugging and troubleshooting of applications; support upgrades and platform maintenance
Establish and enforce platform standards and governance. Conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards and best practices
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile/Scrum methodologies to deliver projects on time
Mentor and guide junior developers
Stay current with ServiceNow releases, new features and industry trends to recommend improvements
Required Qualifications and Skills
7+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience, including module configurations and integrations
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology or a related field or equivalent experience.
Certifications
ServiceNow Certified Application Developer required
ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist in relevant modules (ITSM, ITAM, Service Portal) preferred
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator is a plus
Technical Skills
Proficiency in JavaScript, GlideScript, HTML, CSS, XML and AJAX
Strong experience with ServiceNow tools such as Flow Designs, Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Actions, ACL's, Import Sets, Transform Maps and Service Portal
Knowledge of web services, JSON and integration technologies
Familiarity with ITIL processes and ServiceNow modules such as ITSM, ITAM, SPM, GRC, Portal
Experience with Agile methodologies and version control
ServiceNow Architect experience is a plus
