  • Initial onsite support during assessment and infrastructure modernization
  • Transitions to primarily remote support after modernization
  • Periodic onsite visits for maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Network Engineer to support and modernize a secure government video surveillance infrastructure environment.

This role focuses heavily on Cisco enterprise network engineering, including switching, routing, and network modernization efforts supporting an enterprise-scale video surveillance ecosystem. Following the initial upgrade phase, the position transitions into a primarily remote support model with occasional onsite responsibilities.

This is an ideal opportunity for a well-rounded infrastructure engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems, mentoring junior staff, and contributing across multiple infrastructure disciplines rather than focusing solely on networking.

Key Responsibilities

Network Infrastructure Engineering

  • Support, maintain, and modernize Cisco-based network infrastructure.
  • Configure, deploy, and troubleshoot Cisco switches and routing environments.
  • Manage:
    • VLANs
    • Trunking
    • Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking
    • Spanning Tree Protocol (STP)
    • EtherChannel
    • Routing protocols
    • Access Control Lists (ACLs)
  • Perform network performance analysis, troubleshooting, and optimization.

Infrastructure & Systems Support

  • Support enterprise video surveillance infrastructure and supporting systems.
  • Assist with server, storage, virtualization, and Windows infrastructure as needed.
  • Participate in infrastructure upgrades, maintenance windows, and system improvements.

Documentation & Technical Leadership

  • Develop and maintain:
    • Network diagrams
    • Infrastructure documentation
    • Visio drawings
    • Technical procedures
  • Mentor junior engineers and field technicians.
  • Share technical knowledge and support team development.

Security & Government Compliance

  • Support secure infrastructure environments.
  • Assist with vulnerability remediation and security compliance initiatives.
  • Participate in government compliance activities as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of hands-on Network Engineering experience.
  • Strong Cisco enterprise networking experience.
  • Experience with:
    • Cisco switching and routing
    • VLAN configuration
    • Layer 2 / Layer 3 networking
    • Spanning Tree
    • EtherChannel
    • Routing protocols
    • ACL management
    • Switch administration
  • Strong network troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation and network diagrams.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a small team.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required security access.
