Job description

GENERAL PURPOSE: 
The Middleware Engineer II role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining scalable integration solutions using MuleSoft and related middleware technologies. It involves enabling seamless data exchange across enterprise systems, external partners, and cloud platforms through APIs, messaging, and file-based integrations. It also includes providing L3 production support, resolving complex issues, and improving overall system stability. Additionally, the engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams and maintains comprehensive documentation to support ongoing operations and enhancements.

The base salary range for this role is $113,200 - $195,000. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    Design, develop, test, and deploy integration solutions using MuleSoft, leveraging various integration patterns (API-led connectivity, event-driven, batch, and real-time processing) to support enterprise applications.
    Technical knowledge with Mulesoft cloud and on-prem architecture, environment configuration, and deployment models. 
    Strong technical working knowledge and hands-on experience with platforms Linus/Windows OS, Authentication systems, Networking, Clustering, Load Balancer, JDBC, Java, SSL, Certs etc.
    Provide L3 production support, troubleshoot complex issues, and proactively identify/reduce recurring incidents to improve system stability and performance.
    Design and implement canonical data models and reusable integration frameworks to ensure scalability, maintainability, and consistency across enterprise integrations. 
    Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and knowledge repositories (e.g., Confluence), including integration designs, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
    Work with application leads on large projects to represent integration team. Expected to perform technical analysis, internal consulting, application testing, and application design.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
    Minimum 7 years of IT experience in middleware platforms/application development.
    5 years of Design, develop, test, and deploy integration solutions using MuleSoft, leveraging various integration patterns (API-led connectivity, event-driven, batch, and real-time processing) to support enterprise applications.
    Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in information systems, computer science, or a related technical discipline.
    Demonstrate hands-on experience with messaging and integration technologies, including RabbitMQ (or similar message brokers), B2B integrations, and Managed File Transfer (MFT) solutions for secure data exchange.
    Experience with CI/CD and ALM tools like Jenkins, SonarQube, Bitbucket, Nexus, JIRA, Confluence etc.
    Possess in-depth knowledge of data formats, protocols, and integration standards, such as XML, JSON, SOAP, REST, RAML, SAML, SFTP, and JDBC, including authentication and communication mechanisms
    Strong experience in Java, SQL, PL/SQL, Python, Unix/Linux scripting.
    Demonstrated career progression in technical depth and breadth, and project complexity; ability to quickly become proficient in new technologies.
    Strong analytical, problem solving, and debugging skills
    Excellent oral and written communication skills.
