Job description

Adam Search Group has a fantastic opportunity in the State College, PA area for a Professional Geologist. We're looking to hire a Professional Geologist (P.G.) who's passionate about environmental and hydrogeologic work and ready to take ownership of meaningful projects from start to finish. You'll join a team of down-to-earth professionals who value collaboration, integrity, and technical excellence. This position can be remote but will have office visits.

What You'll Do

  • Lead all phases of project management — from developing proposals and scopes of work to tracking budgets, schedules, and invoices.

  • Serve as a trusted point of contact, maintaining open communication with clients, team members, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies.

  • Work alongside cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality environmental and hydrogeologic solutions.

  • Prepare project deliverables such as technical reports, permit applications, and detailed work plans.

  • Coordinate and oversee project execution — scheduling field staff, arranging lab work, and managing vendors or subcontractors.

  • Analyze data, figures, and charts to support interpretations and project conclusions.

  • Mentor and guide junior staff, helping them grow both technically and professionally.

  • Perform fieldwork safely and efficiently when required — travel may occasionally be necessary in varying weather conditions.

  • Demonstrate ethical decision-making and professionalism while supporting company policies and goals.

  • Take initiative when needed to help the team and company succeed.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in geology, hydrogeology, environmental science, or a related field.

  • Active Pennsylvania Professional Geologist (P.G.) license.

  • 5–10 years of experience in hydrogeologic and/or environmental consulting.

  • Prior Oil & Gas industry experience is a strong plus.

  • Excellent technical writing and QA/QC review skills.

  • Clear and confident communication abilities.

  • Willingness to work extended hours when project demands arise.

  • Familiarity with AQTESOLV, RockWorks, or MODFLOW preferred (not required).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • A strong commitment to safety in all work environments.

If you're looking for a company where your expertise is valued, your input matters, and your work makes an impact — this could be the right fit.
