Public Health Data Analyst

Hourly Pay Range: $33.92 - $50.88

Job Summary: Under direction of the Clinical Program Director of Quality and Compliance, the Public Health Data Analyst is responsible of evaluating the impact of prevention-public health (PPH) activities provided by Behavioral Health Services (BHS). The position will use data to drive PPH activities, including interventions, locations, target groups, etc. The Public Health Data Analyst will focus on increasing evaluation of PPH activities, reviewing relevant PPH literature, performance-based contracting, interoperability capacities, training, and presenting information.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Develop performance measures for agencies receiving regranted dollars to implement primary prevention strategies and County led prevention and harm reduction initiatives.
- Work with Medical Examiner data and other internal and external data sources to evaluate and inform PPH efforts.
- Research evidence-based literature related to PPH to ensure strategies align with current evidence and stay informed of new innovations/developments in the field.
- Explore, acquire, and catalogue existing as well as new key data sources that help support PPH efforts. Develop partnerships with organizations that provide data needed and formal agreements to obtain access.ย
- Utilize impact and success measures of mental illness and substance use disorder prevention outcomes to develop and facilitate trainings for stakeholders, agency staff, and the public regarding data strategies.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current resident of the State of Wisconsin.
- Ability for in-office/remote hybrid work.
- Possession of a Bachelorโs degree or higher in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Child and Family Studies/Services, Criminal Justice, Corrections, Community Health Education, or a closely related field.
- At least one (1) year of work experience in a Social Services, Public Health, or closely related field is required.
- Intermediate to advanced skills/experience working in Microsoft Office Suite Software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Smartsheets.
- Experience with data visualization software such as PowerBI or Tableau.
- Experience with mapping software such as ArcGIS.
- Experience with public speaking and/or presenting information to diverse audiences.
- Experience with statistical analytic methods used in public health.
